Dialogue / Διάλογος GEORGE: Mum, we need some things for the school party. We need some sweets, some biscuits and some other things... MOTHER: Well, open the cupboard and check! GEORGE: Let’s see! There are some biscuits and some sweets... HELEN: Are there any plastic knives and forks? GEORGE: No, there aren’t any. HELEN: What about paper plates and glasses? GEORGE: There are some paper plates but there aren’t any paper glasses. HELEN: And what about plastic spoons? GEORGE: Yes, there are some. Here you are... Learn the words: 1.   cupboard = ντουλάπι 2.   knife = μαχαίρι 3.   knives = μαχαίρια 4.   fork = πιρούνι 5.   plate = πιάτο 6.   spoon = κουτάλι some / any some: ( με αριθμήσιμα ουσιαστικά / countable nouns) = μερικοί, -ές, -ά. 1. some boys = μερικά αγόρια. 2. some trees = μερικά δένδρα. 3. some plates = μερικά πιάτα. some: ( με μη αριθμήσιμα ουσιαστικά / uncountable nouns ) = λίγο, κάμποσο. 1. some water = λίγο / κάμποσο νερό. 2. some sugar = λίγη / κάμποση ζάχαρη. 3. some rice = λίγο / κάμποσο ρύζι.   -Χρησιμοποιούμε το some σε καταφατικές προτάσεις. 1. There are some flowers in the garden. 2. There is some wine in the glass. 3.  I have got some money in my pocket. any: ( με αριθμήσιμα και μη αριθμήσιμα ουσιαστικά) = καθόλου, κανένας. - Χρησιμοποιούμε το any σε ερωτηματικές και αρνητικές προτάσεις. 1. Are there any flowers in the garden? 2. Is there any wine in the glass? 3. Have you got any money in your pocket? 4. There aren’t any flowers in the garden. 5. There isn’t any wine in the glass. 6. I haven’t got any money in my pocket. Προσοχή: Χρησιμοποιούμε το some σε ερωτηματικές προτάσεις, α) όταν προσφέρουμε κάτι,  e.g. Would you like some more coffee? β) όταν ζητάμε κάτι,  Can I have some more coffee, please?
